The Story Behind Weatherby, The Images & The Art
Every image on Miswired.me has a reason for being here.
Sometimes it's whimsy, because my "goofy brain" doesn't require much justification for deciding to point my phone's camera at a subject. Sometimes it's personal. Sometimes the header image for a post is a deliberately constructed digital composite with an intentional, if slightly unhinged, relationship to the posted content beneath it: Brain-spaghetti; Calculus wars; A Van Gogh starry night with an open aluminum-can head. You'll know them when you see them.
And then there's, Weatherby.
You'll notice Weatherby Walter Wharton as the recurring visual anchor, our site motif, beneath every post on this site. He was our Bernese mountain dog, our family member, our fondly nicknamed, "WeatherButt."
Weatherby is, without question, the most accurate visual metaphor for everything miswired.me is trying to say:
"Full commitment, zero dignity."

Weatherby Walter Wharton watching...
Weatherby was our beloved Bernese mountain dog. This is the image of him laying on the sidewalk in his backyard in West Seattle peering out from beneath the wooden fence gate toward the world passing by out front.
Little known to most passersby, when you saw him like this from the front sidewalk, Weatherby was still standing upright on his back legs, butt up in the air, with his tail wagging.
WeatherButt...as we fondly nicknamed him, is the perfect reminder of what acceptance and unconditional love are all about.
